Overview
The property is located in the town of Larino at the intersection of S.S. 87 and Via Molise, and the entire site is completely enclosed by old masonry with wrought-iron gates.
It is adjacent to the archaeological area of Via Dante Alighieri, which includes the mighty Roman amphitheater and the imposing Villa Zappone with its park, built in the early 1900s.
During the construction of Villa Zappone, several ancient materials used to decorate the building were discovered. Indeed, the stables were built just above the remains of a bathhouse, likely used for the aforementioned amphitheater. This bathhouse, which can be visited today, is richly decorated with figurative mosaics of rare beauty
and constitutes one of the most important remains of the ancient Municipality of Larinum, an attractive tourist destination for a vast area of the territory.
